FARSLEY Celtic boss Neil Parsley will be without his long standing No 2 and long-term friend Mark Jackson in the dugout for the first time on Saturday as the Celts take on Scarborough Athletic.

Jackson, whose last involvement came in Tuesday’s League Cup tie win at Throstle Nest, has taken a full-time role with Leeds United, coaching the Championship outfit’s under-16s at Thorp Arch.

The Celts, struggling in Evo-Stik Division One North, beat South Division high-fliers Shaw Lane Aquaforce 2-0 after a 4-3 defeat at the Ducks’ home in the FA Trophy less than a fortnight before.

Parsley said: “We didn’t play any better than we had in the first game against them or any of the narrow defeats we’ve had in the league this season. It was just that we got the result on the night.

“Tomorrow it’s back to the league, and when every club bar one is above you in the table every game is a tough game, but we know we can compete against anyone.”

Brighouse Town face a derby at Ossett Town, and Paul Quinn’s men are looking to claw back some ground back on the promotion-chasing pack after back-to-back draws.

His team are four points outside the play-off places but have two games in hand on fifth-placed Clitheroe.

Ossett are struggling and are just five points better off than Farsley after playing a game more.
