FARSLEY Celtic exacted sweet revenge on Prescot Cables when they dumped them out of the FA Trophy at Throstle Nest, just a week after losing their Evo-Stik Division One North clash.

Neil Parsley’s men laid that 2-0 away loss firmly to rest with a 4-0 triumph that puts them into the first qualifying round.

This time Farsley found their touch in front of goal – but only after the break.

On-loan forward Paul Walker raced through to open the scoring with the only goal of the first half.

Lewis Nightingale went close with two efforts for the Celts but the opposition almost levelled via Rob Doran before Tom Taylor’s bar was rattled by a later shot.

Farsley’s half-time lead was doubled by skipper Rob O’Brien when he finished a good move in the 66th minute.

Walker, who had been denied by the woodwork earlier in the second half, notched his second ten minutes later.

Leon Osborne made his comeback from an injury lay-off as a half-time substitute for Nightingale and marked his return with a goal, making it 4-0 in the last minute.

SILSDEN also progressed in the FA Vase, firing in six without reply at home.

Chris Wademan helped himself to a hat-trick as the Cobbydalers rolled over Daisy Hill, despite only leading by one goal at the break.

The hosts were under Ryan Haigh and Paul Evans for the first time after Haigh’s joint manager Danny Bolton resigned after Tuesday’s home defeat.

The team on the pitch didn’t allow the changes in the management team to derail them and Wademan gave them a 28th-minute lead with the only goal of the first half.

Nicky McNally weighed in with a second-half brace, Wademan completed his treble from the penalty spot after he had been brought down and Will Storrie was also on target.
