EVO-STIK League clubs join the FA Cup now that the extra preliminary round is out of the way, so Brighouse Town and Farsley Celtic are alongside Thackley and Silsden in knockout action tomorrow.

Paul Quinn’s Brighouse have been handed home advantage in the preliminary-round draw and will be aiming to make that pay against Atherton Collieries.

Town will be high on confidence after back-to-back league victories – one of them against Farsley – but Atherton will be playing without fear as they are perceived as underdogs.

Farsley’s tie looks much harder as they travel to a club on the same step of the football pyramid.

Neil Parsley takes his men to Evo-Stik Division One South outfit Stocksbridge Park Steels.

The home side currently lead their section, while the Celts have had a dismal start in the North Division.

However, Parsley will be impressing on his players that this is a golden opportunity to kick-start their season.

Atherton’s league rivals Silsden host another league rival in Padiham, just four days after the clubs met at the same venue in the North West Counties League Premier Division.

The Cobbydalers took all three points but needed a late penalty to edge a five-goal thriller 3-2, which gave no clues as to the winner tomorrow.

It will be difficult for the sides to repeat the excitement of Tuesday’s league game but with £1,950 on offer and a chance of playing for £3,000 in the first qualifying round, they will both be doing their best to win it.

Thackley head to the north east to take on Ashington, who put the Dennyboys’ league rivals Albion Sports out in the last round.

Ashes winner Steve Harmison is the manager of the Northern League outfit and proved he can win FA Cup ties as well.

Ashington had two epic battles with Albion, netting a last-minute equaliser in the initial tie, which finished 2-2, to earn a replay and then twice coming from a goal down before scoring a penultimate-minute winner at Throstle Nest to book their home tie against Thackley.

The Dennyboys didn’t have the best preparation for tomorrow as they were hammered 5-1 in the league at Worksop Town in midweek.

Tom Dugdale got Thackley’s consolation strike on the half-hour but they were already three goals down by then.
