FARSLEY Celtic earned their first point of the new season at the third attempt as last season’s Evo-Stik League Cup finalists met again.

Warrington Town had home advantage for Saturday’s Division One North meeting but the result was the same as last May’s cup final – a draw, although Warrington won last season's subsequent penalty shootout.

The Celts broke the deadlock on the hour through Lewis Nightingale but their lead lasted just three minutes before Scott Metcalfe grabbed the Yellows’ equaliser.

Brighouse Town gained their first win in the same division as an Ernest Boafo hat-trick saw them to a 3-1 derby victory over Harrogate Railway. Paul Quinn’s men had to come from a goal down after Ryan Sharrocks had given the visitors a ninth-minute lead.

Boafo netted the equaliser in the 35th minute and he fired Town in front from the penalty spot after Danny Facey had been brought down just before half-time.

A ball into the danger area by Facey 15 minutes from time was fumbled by the Rail’s keeper to gift Boafo his treble.

Albion Sports opened their home account in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division in some style with a 4-1 win over Cleethorpes Town.

Skipper Asif Hussain opened the scoring from the penalty spot midway through the half after Danny Cunningham had been fouled, and the latter forced home the second minutes later.

Michael O’Brien found the top corner with a shot from distance early in the second half and, although Daniel Trott netted for Cleethorpes to reduce the arrears, Alex Cusack wrapped up the scoring with another screamer form distance.

Thackley lost 3-1 at home to Retford United after a late brace from the visitors.

United took an early lead but Paul Whiteley levelled before the quarter-hour. However, two goals in the last ten minutes took the game away, Adam Lee (2) and Adam Carter being on target for Retford.

Liversedge went down 3-1 at Athersley Recreation after a three-goal salvo in the final eight minutes.

Andy Wood had given Sedge a first-half lead but a brace from Danny Joynes, sandwiching a Josh Moore strike, led to the home side snatching all three points.

Eccleshill United lost out to a last-gasp winner at Yorkshire Amateur as the Leeds side edged the Division One derby 3-2.

Craig Heard put them 1-0 up before Brandan Hammand levelled in the first half.

Ammers went back in front through Joel Hughes but Luke Harrop equalised for the Eagles before Dan Sherriffe grabbed the very late winner.

Silsden also left it until stoppage time before their ten men won 2-1 at Alsager Town in the North West Counties League Premier Division.

The Cobbydalers played the entire second half a man down after centre back Lee Gilfoyle harshly received a straight red card in the 42nd minute. Jordan Southwell gave Alsager a 70th-minute lead but Chris Wademan levelled in the first minute of time added on and Zack Dale struck Silsden’s winner a minute later.
