FARSLEY led 2-0 at the break in the Evo-Stik First Division North against second-placed Darlington 1883 last night and ran out winners but only by the odd goal after a second-half fight back.
Adam Priestley opened the scoring when he converted a cross-shot from Aiden Savory.
The striker was unfortunate later when he was denied after a Kyle Hancock shot was mishandled by the visitors’ keeper but he was on the scoresheet midway through the first half with a well-taken goal.
The visitors’ former Liversedge forward Nathan Cartman halved the deficit three minutes after the break and Darlo were level just before the hour mark when Terry Galbraith netted a penalty.
But the home side were not to be denied the win that rekindled their own promotion hopes and Hancock sealed it with a superb 74th-minute free-kick.
