FARSLEY continued to stutter in the Evo-Stik League as they look to get back into the Division One North promotion chase following a 2-1 defeat at Warrington Town.

Neil Parsley's men have enough games in hand to be in the thick of the end-of-season extras but they remain ninth after their latest loss.

They were under the pump from the off at mid-table Warrington and the Yellows took a third-minute lead.

Tom Hardwick's back-post header to an early corner broke the deadlock – and that lead was doubled before the 20th minute. Farsley keeper Tom Taylor did well to parry a Nathan Burke shot but Scott Metcalfe netted the rebound.

Farsley were better after the break and got a foothold in the game on the hour mark as Ryan Serrant sent in a cross that Mikey Aspin hammered home from the edge of the area.

They went in search of an equaliser but, despite good efforts from skipper Rob O'Brien and Lewis Nightingale, were thwarted.

In the same division, Brighouse Town twice took the lead at Ossett Town but still slipped to a 3-2 defeat.

Tom Matthews hit a third-minute opener but that was cancelled out by Nathan Curtis late in the first half.

Matthews grabbed his second just before the hour mark but Brighouse led for just a little over ten minutes before Grant Allott's strike restored parity and Danny Cunningham then hit Ossett's winner.

Thackley enjoyed a good Toolstation Northern Counties East League victory, winning 3-1 in the Premier Division at Pickering Town.

A first-half brace from Mike Garrod put them in the driving seat. The home side snatched a lifeline just after the hour mark when Wayne Aziz converted Billy Logan's cross but Dougie Stevenson restored the Dennyboys' two-goal cushion.

Liversedge fared much worse at Bridlington Town, losing by the same scoreline.

The hosts took a fourth-minute lead trough Tom Fleming, Jarrod Smalley made it 2-0 just after the quarter-hour mark and Danny Brunton netted after 30 minutes.

Mark Lopez netted the only goal of the second half for Sedge right at the death.

Eccleshill United stretched their unbeaten run in Division One to three games with a 1-1 draw at Worsbrough Bridge Athletic.

Mark Stuart's 60th-minute strike gave the home side a lead but Matt Burrus claimed a deserved point for the Eagles with an 82nd-minute leveller.

Silsden's winning North West Counties League run came to an end with a 2-0 defeat at Premier Division leaders Runcorn Linnets.

The home side got off to the perfect start as Freddie Potter opened the scoring in the first minute and Michael White added the second goal from the spot following a foul by keeper Danny Thorpe, who was shown a yellow card.
