Farsley 2 Burscough 2
FARSLEY twice let the lead slip in a poor performance and tumbled another place to ninth in the Evo-Stik First Division North.
Visitors Burscough were well worth the point they took from Throstle Nest and Farsley needed two penalties to get their goals.
The deadlock was broken midway through the first half when Lewis Nightingale was fouled and got up to despatch the spot-kick himself.
A little over three minutes before the interval, Jordan Williams and Will Jones combined to create the chance that Eddie Toner put away.
Farsley were awarded a second penalty for a 46th-minute handball offence in the area and Nightingale again beat Burscough keeper Calvin Hare.
But the visitors wouldn’t lie down and creator Jones turned poacher to net their equaliser.
Farsley boss Neil Parsley said: “To be honest we only deserved a point. Burscough were good value for the draw.
“We were rusty and naive at times. Our quality in key areas was not what it should have been.”
