FARSLEY’S resurgence will be severely tested when they head to Moss Lane to face leaders Salford City on Saturday.

Neil Parsley’s men are still outside the play-off places in the Evo-Stik First Division North but remain promotion contenders as they have games in hand on clubs above them.

Shock defeats – to struggling Brighouse Town and relegation-threatened New Mills – over Christmas and New Year meant Farsley dropped out of the play-off zone.

However, a comfortable 3-0 victory at home to Radcliffe Borough last weekend put them back on the brink and they followed that up with a 4-2 win over Sheffield in the League Cup on Tuesday.

Confidence is also high among leaders Salford, who will be looking to get new management pairing of Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley off to a winning home start.

Brighouse’s Boxing Day win against Farsley came in the middle of five league defeats but they will be hoping to taste victory again when they travel to Radcliffe.

Paul Quinn’s side have endured a tough run of fixtures but are six points better off than 19th-placed Radcliffe.
