FARSLEY know there is no let-up as they go into another tricky Evo-Stik League away game needing a win to ensure they remain in the Division One North play-off places.

Neil Parsley's men head to Clitheroe looking for a 12th league win of the season but their opponents' Shawbridge ground is something of a fortress.

Clitheroe lost there last time out – 1-0 to fellow mid-table outfit Mossley – but that was their first home defeat since August.

Farsley also go into this weekend's game on the back of a defeat after Monday's 5-1 loss in the West Riding County Cup quarter-finals at Bradford Park Avenue.

That humbling setback, albeit with a much-changed starting line-up as Parsley prioritised league games, brought an end to a seven-match unbeaten run.

Farsley racked up four wins and a draw (with promotion rivals Spennymoor Town) in that sequence, so their league form has been excellent.

They need to keep picking up the maximums as two clubs – Scarborough Athletic and Bamber Bridge – are breathing down their necks, just two points behind.

Brighouse Town are also travelling west as they head to Victoria Park to take on Burscough.

The clubs are two of three on the same number of points in mid-table – Kendal Town are the other – but Brighouse have games in hand on both rivals. They have played two fewer than this weekend's hosts.

Paul Quinn's men put in a decent performance at Spennymoor on Tuesday but a second-half purple patch – three goals in a nine-minute spell – took the game away from them and they lost 4-1.

That was a second consecutive league defeat but it followed three straight wins in a five-match unbeaten run and Town will be aiming to start another significant sequence.
