FARSLEY take on Salford City at Throstle Nest this weekend in a clash which supporters are terming the non-League version of the Uniteds – Leeds v Manchester.

Salford's ground is in the shadows of Old Trafford and the club are part-owned by the renowned 'Class of 92' – Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and the Neville brothers, Gary and Phil.

The clubs will be taking it more for what it is, which is third v first in Evo-Stik League Division One North, with the gap so close that a Farsley win could see them overhaul the leaders.

Neil Parsley's men would need victory by at least a three-goal margin to go top, while Salford would still have a game in hand on them.

Farsley will be without striker Adam Priestley, who is on international duty with Gibraltar, and Parsley will be awaiting news of Aaron Hardy and Josh Grant, who both missed Tuesday's 2-0 win over New Mills through injury.

The Derbyshire club will be back in the area at the weekend as they head to the Dual Seal Stadium to take on Brighouse Town.

New Mills are third from bottom, so it is a good opportunity for Town – who have lost three of their last four league games – to pick up a much-needed victory.

Brighouse have lost half of their ten starts in the first quarter of the season.
