FARSLEY climbed back into the Division One North play-off frame with a big Evo-Stik League win at Radcliffe Borough.

Neil Parsley's men were looking to get points on the board after playing in two cup competitions and they banked a maximum.

The 4-1 victory took them up to fourth place and they have games in hand on three of their top-five rivals.

They started quickly at Boro, with Spencer Harris breaking the deadlock after just 14 minutes. He pounced to net after the home defence had failed to clear a corner.

Marcus Edwards and Aiden Savory were both denied by Boro's keeper but Farsley did double their lead before the break. They had forced another corner and James Riley headed it on for Adam Priestley to rifle home.

Ten minutes into the second half Radcliffe were, quite literally, handed a lifeline as Savory touched the ball inside the area. Daniel White stepped forward to beat Tom Taylor from the penalty spot.

But there was to be no comeback as Farsley made the game safe with two goals in as many minutes around the hour mark.

Edwards raced through the home defence and hit a shot that was only parried, Ross Daly netting the rebound, and Savory scored from close range soon after.

Another set-piece almost saw Farsley with a nap hand but this time Riley's header down was fired against the bar by Savory.

There was no joy on the road for neighbours Brighouse Town as they went down 2-0 at Lancaster City.

Paul Quinn's men were level on points with the red rose outfit going into the game and looking for their fourth win of the campaign.

But instead it turned out to be Town's fourth defeat – and it could have been by a bigger margin.

Neil Marshall put the Dolly Blues in front just after the half-hour mark and Aaron Taylor netted their second in the 64th minute.

Darren Peacock's side created a lot more chances but their finishing was poor.

Lancaster remain tenth despite the win but Town dropped to 16th in the Division One North table.
