Farsley AFC 3, Mossley 4

MARCUS Edwards thought he had scored Farsley's winner but that was just the start of the late drama as Mossley edged a seven-goal Evo-Stik League thriller at Throstle Nest.

Farsley were riding high at third place in Division One North and had not lost a game since the opening day of the season. But Mossley were eighth and knew they could join their hosts on 13 points with a win.

Ross Daly had the ball in the net from an Aaron Hardy cross early on but that strike was disallowed. Instead it was Mossley who broke the deadlock when Dean Warburton opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark.

Farsley went into the break on level terms after James Riley found the bottom corner when a Ryan Serrant cross had only been half-cleared.

Farsley were close again when Aiden Savory hit the bar but Neil Parsley's men took the lead for the first time through Jason St Juste. He netted the follow-up after a Lewis Nightingale effort had hit the bar.

The visitors equalised through Thomas Dean just six minutes later but, with less than two minutes left, substitute Edwards was played through by Savory and he made it 3-2.

Yet Mossley were far from finished and Mitchell Bryant hit a stoppage time equaliser before a Joshua Granite strike won it.

Farsley drop to sixth in the table in a congested top section that sees just two points separating six clubs from Mossley to second-placed Droylsden, who won 3-1 at Brighouse Town.

Town took the lead at the Dual Seal Stadium, with Ryan Hall netting an eighth-minute penalty after the Droylsden keeper had fouled Leon Henry. But the visitors were soon on terms as Dale Wright levelled in the 12th minute.

Droylsden went in front after a penalty of their own following a handball in the area midway through the first half, Ciaran Kilheeney scoring from the spot.

Kevin Leadbetter added the third goal just after the hour mark as Paul Quinn's men tumbled to 16th spot.
