NEIL Parsley flew back into Leeds this week from a family holiday and immediately sent out a get-well-soon message to two players from a neighbouring club.

The Farsley manager was away for the club’s final pre-season friendly, when they faced Guiseley at Throstle Nest.

The game was blighted for the Lions when they had both of their centre backs injured in the first half but it was not until after the final whistle that the full extent of the damage became apparent.

Parsley said: “I missed the game but I was informed that there were two very unfortunate injuries to the Guiseley lads. I read online later that one of them had suffered a broken leg and I was sorry that his pre-season had ended like that.

“My best wishes go out to him, and everyone here at Farsley wishes Danny (Hall) a full and speedy recovery.

"The same goes for the other Danny (Lowe), although he won’t be out anywhere near as long.

“Obviously I wasn’t at the game but I was told that it was an innocuous challenge. It is just one of those things that happens in the game.”

Now that Parsley is back – just in time for tomorrow’s first game of the Evo-Stik Division One North season at Lancaster City – he can’t wait to get started.

“I wasn’t here for a crucial part of the pre-season, and that’s not ideal, but in this day and age you can’t take your kids on holidays in school-term time.

"But everyone needs a break to recharge the batteries.

“It will be a difficult start for us at Lancaster but our lads have trained well and are all ready for what lies ahead."
