The exceptionally difficult run-in for Farsley continues on Saturday when they host Ramsbottom United - but the tough spell could yet be their salvation.

Neil Parsley’s men are seventh in Evo-Stik Division One North and struggling to break back into the play-offs, having had their fate in their own hands just a few short weeks ago.

However, there would be a significant shift in the balance of power should Farsley pull off a home win over fourth-placed Ramsbottom.

The Lancashire outfit are currently five points better off than Parsley’s side but a win for the home side would see that cut to just two and Farsley would still have a game in hand.

Farsley drew at Ramsbottom on the opening day of this month and had to settle for a point from a 2-2 draw at sixth-placed Lancaster City, after being 2-0 up at half-time, last weekend.

Parsley warned his players that there would be twists and turns before the season reaches it’s conclusion but even he may not have expected so much tension.

But he insists that his squad are up to the job and, with 15 points to play for, he is tipping them to secure a play-off place.

Farsley have other promotion rivals contenders still to play, which allows them the opportunity to take points off their rivals.
