The next two games could determine Farsley’s season as the third-placed side take on the two clubs above them in Evo-Stik Division One North, both away from home.
They journey to second-placed Warrington Town on Saturday and to leaders Curzon Ashton the weekend after.
Neil Parsley’s men lost their 14-match unbeaten league run when they slipped to a 2-1 home defeat to Kendal last weekend.
They got the loss out of their systems on Monday night when they hosted the Army XI in a friendly.
The forces’ team needed warm-up games ahead of the tri-series and called on Farsley as assistant player-manager Simeon Bambrook played in the side during his spell in the army and is an ex-team-mate of their current manager.
Parsley fielded his full squad and they won 2-1 after first-half goals from Matty James and Lee Ellington.
Tomorrow’s opponents Warrington have a four-point cushion over Farsley but Parsley’s men are just one point better off than fourth-placed Darlington 1883, who have two games in hand.
