Farsley forwards run riot
New Mills 0, Farsley 4
Farsley turned in an excellent performance to earn maximum points from their trip to the Peak District for an Evo-Stik League Division One North top-ten clash with New Mills.
The home side were above Neil Parsley’s men before the game kicked off but they were ripped apart by three second-half goals.
Farsley skipper Rob O’Brien had put the visitors in front from Aiden Savory’s through ball with the only goal of the first half.
Savory used his strength to power through and double the visitors’ advantage on the hour mark.
A Matty James header from Ryan Serrant’s cross found the net via a deflection for the third goal and Lee Ellington wrapped up the scoring after a pass from Josh Grant.
Parsley was even more pleased with the performance than the margin of victory and said: “It was a great result. The lads bounced back well from last week’s defeat at Kendal Town.
“It is good to come away from here with a clean sheet because they are a very good side with a great home record.
“It’s always nice for the players, especially the strikers, to get a goal – but to be honest, I would have taken any win from a tough fixture like that.”
