Dave Stead double not quite enough for Farsley

Ossett Town 3, Farsley AFC 3

Farsley hit back from a goal down to twice take the lead as they shared six goals but failed to hold out for a win against ten-man hosts Ossett Town.

Neil Parsley’s men remain in the Evo-Stik League Division One North play-off places as they extended the unbeaten run they began over the holiday period.

But it was more like two points dropped after Town were reduced in numbers midway through the second half following a foul on Farsley goalkeeper Ben Higginson.

Former Farsley centre back Wes Milnes headed the home side in front from a 25th-minute corner but a deflected Adam Priestley shot evened things up early in the second half.

Dave Stead then nudged the visitors in front with just 20 minutes remaining but John Eyles equalised.

Stead must have thought his second goal, coming ten minutes from time against the ten men, would be the winner.

But former Bradford City midfielder Luke Sharry netted five minutes later to earn mid-table Town a point.

Parsley’s men held on to fifth spot, just inside the play-off zone, but New Mills, Cammell Laird and Ramsbottom United are all snapping at their heels and have several games in hand.
