Farsley had to come from two goals down to keep their unbeaten run over the holiday season as they earned a point from their short trip to Harrogate Railway Athletic today.

The home side broke the deadlock early as Rob Youhill netted in the sixth minute, and former Brighouse Town hitman Nathan Cartman doubled their advantage midway through the first half.

However, Dave Stead pulled a goal back for the visitors eight minutes before the break and Adam Priestley hit the equaliser before the hour mark.

Farsley had what they thought was a winner chalked off in this Evo-Stik Division One North derby when Brice Tiani had the ball in the net.

Farsley boss Neil Parsley was pleased his side had come back but not satisfied with a point.

He said: “I thought we had done enough to win it. The last ten minutes of the first half was all us and we could have been level by half-time.

“Fair play to Harrogate though because for the final ten minutes of the game it was a real blood-and- thunder derby with both sides going for the winner.

"Brice didn’t look offside from where I was stood but the linesman said something about becoming active when their keeper fumbled Steve Mallory’s shot.”
