Farsley 5, Garforth Town 0

Farsley got back to winning ways in a one-sided derby against Evo-Stik Division One North basement outfit Garforth Town at Throstle Nest today.

The home side went nap, and without the heroics of the visitors’ keeper Chris Senior the damage to Town’s goal difference would have been much worse.

He made some outstanding saves which kept the tally down.

Centre back James Riley opened the scoring for the home side after just five minutes, Ryan Harrison doubled Farsley’s advantage just before the half-hour mark and Gareth Grant added the third.

Ten minutes into the second half, Adam Priestley was on target before Riley bagged himself a very rare brace to wrap up the scoring.

Farsley boss Neil Parsley said: “The scoreline didn’t do us justice but any 5-0 is nice. We were absolutely in control throughout the game and their (Garforth’s) keeper has made six or seven top- class saves.

“I know Garforth are not having the best of times at the moment and have been poor but you can only beat what’s in front of you and we have stuck to our task and done that. That, for me, makes it a very good three points.”
