Friendly against galaxy of budding Beckhams

Eccleshill have announced another pre-season friendly and they sincerely hope it does not end in the unsavoury way that their first run-out did.

Last Tuesday they won 3-0 at Bay Athletic but a scuffle after the final whistle overshadowed the match.

This coming Tuesday they will play Ramsell UK at Esholt, a team of young hopefuls trying to become David Beckham's team-mates at LA Galaxy.

"This company is the one that takes lads out to the USA for trials at one of the biggest clubs in the Major League," explained assistant boss Andy Patterson.

"I think everyone around here will remember the two youngsters from Guiseley who hit the headlines last year when they were flown over to Los Angeles for trials, shortly after it became public knowledge that David Beckham had signed for the club.We had wanted to pencil in another couple of games and to be approached by this company is great for us. It will be a big occasion for our players to play trailists who are considered good enough to chance their luck in the USA.

"It will be at Esholt and because of that it will be a 6.30pm kick-off. Let us hope it will turn out to be a better night than our first one.

"What disappoints me is that it was me and Mick (Watson's) first game in charge and the talk will be dominated by what went off after the game rather than what happened during it.

"Things happen in the heat of a game, that has always been the case. What bothers me is that it should have been a good night for our club, a good win, a clean sheet, a very good work-out, but the incident has become the talking point."

Are you sure it is a football academy and not a boxing academy that Eccy are playing.
If Eccy players are to blame it will be a test of discipline for the new managers.
Still, it get the club noticed..
Great start to pre season though...Win and a clean sheet to boot.

I feel that what went on at plumpton park was a total disgrace, and feel that both players should be banned from the game.

As a spectator at the "Friendly" on Tuesday night I would like to point out that the EUFC players were not in the wrong in any way, shape or form. For some this may be hard to believe but it's true.
I think Andy Patterson's words may have been slightly misconstrued in the T and A report. The 2 idiots who spoiled the occosion were the Bay Athletic player and his Henchman who he phoned to come to the ground and start throwing punches!!

No EUFC player retaliated at all.
This shows the respect the players have for Mick and Andy and are already following club rules.
Long may this new EUFC continue.
    UP THE EAGLES!!!

Throw the book at em i say throw the book at them. Are the police involved?
WELL DONE to corny for not getting involved. Why does everyone whinge about the Eccy? Are they jealous that we own our own ground, have millions and i mean millions in assets. The sky will be the limit for the club in the next few years. UP THE ECCCCCYYYYYY

Might be an idea to tap into this team and try to nab a few young players for the teams at Eccy

The (Eccy) player mentioned should get an apology in the t&a
and also an apology from you. Get your facts right before spouting off.

As a loyal Eccleshill fan, I think the "friedlies" against lower league opposition often results in the teams becoming "frustrated" with the run around they are getting. Bay Athletic showed themselves to be little more than a pub team, and "calling your mates" to come to the game to get involved after smacks of nothing more than this. Unbiased to the fact as I am, I do have to agree that the Eccleshill players were able to "leave what happens on the pitch on the pitch" and not get involved in the afters! The Bay manager should be ashamed of himself.
