Eccleshill United 2, Glasshoughton Welfare 1

Mark Senior finally got his tenure as Eccleshill United manager off and running tonight, and he started with a victory.

The Eagles beat Glasshoughton Welfare 2-1 at Plumpton Park to close the gap on the third-from-bottom club.

Senior was appointed in mid-December but tonight was his first chance to take charge from the dugout.

The victory did not lift the Eagles off the foot of the Kool Sport Northern Counties East League Division One table but it did bring them level on points with Worsborough Bridge, the club directly above them, and Senior’s club also has two games in hand on them and four on Glasshoughton.
