Toolstation Northern Counties East League Division One: Eccleshill United 5 Westella & Willerby 2
ECCLESHILL United flew up to seventh in the table with this comfortable home win last night.
The Eagles ended a three-game losing streak with a 5-2 victory after taking a firm grip on the game early on, scoring twice in the first ten minutes.
Marcus Edwards provided the assist as the home side broke the deadlock through Jake McCann-Tomlin in the fourth minute, and netted the second himself with a neat finish after showing good control.
The visitors pegged one back before the break when Alex Wood curled a shot into the top corner, and Westella levelled midway through the second half when Wood headed home a cross.
The Eagles fought back to earn their win, however, with Matt Mathers putting them back in front before the lively Edwards netted again following a bustling run from inside his own half.
Substitute Adam Turner wrapped up the scoring two minutes from time with a shot from inside the area.
