THE chances of FARSLEY CELTIC reaching the Division One North play-offs are fading fast after back-to-back Evo-Stik League defeats but a win on the road tonight may rekindle their chances.

The Celts travel to 14th-placed Witton Albion knowing they cannot afford to drop any more points. A victory would lift them back up to seventh, although still four points outside the top five and having played three more games.

SILSDEN are also in need of points after their relegation worries increased with a 1-0 home defeat to fellow North West Counties League strugglers Alsager Town on Saturday.

It will be a tough ask for James Gill's men as they head to 1874 Northwich, who are a lofty fifth in the Premier Division.

The third round of the Northern Counties East League Cup threw up a tasty local derby and, after two postponements, THACKLEY will hope to welcome neighbours ECCLESHILL UNITED tonight.

The Dennyboys have a division advantage over their visitors but the Eagles will feel they are in with a chance of an upset.
