ALBION SPORTS earned an unlikely point in a 4-4 Toolstation Northern Counties East League thriller at title-chasing Tadcaster Albion.

With Worksop Town not having a fixture, Taddy were seeking the home win that would have seen them reclaim top spot in the Premier Division.

But Kulwinder Sandhu's men had other ideas – and if they had taken more of their chances, they would have won.

The visitors had a goal ruled out for offside and hit the woodwork three times, the final time when substitute Kamran Basi headed against the bar in the last minute.

Marcus Edwards had been denied by the assistant referee's flag but he scored in the 51st minute and stroked in a penalty minutes later after Matty Dalton had been fouled in the area.

That got Sports back in the clash after George Conway had given Tadcaster a first-half lead. But Josh Greening had scored between Edwards' brace and Conway then went on to claim a hat-trick.

Sports came back again and Alex Cusack bagged a late brace, walking both goals in after selling the home keeper a dummy, to claim a point.

Sam Bradley and James Firth were other visitors to be denied by the frame of the goal.

LIVERSEDGE'S unlikely win in a seven-goal clash at home to high-flying Barton Town ended a run of 11 straight league defeats.

Sedge broke the deadlock in their 4-3 victory through Brandon Kane in the 11th minute and Vaughan Redford added a second four minutes later, before the visitors got a foothold when Ashley Lattimore netted a penalty.

Bradley Ricketts levelled for Barton but goals from Kenny Tafireyi and Craig Tonkinson put Sedge back in the driving seat and Tom Darwood's third for the visitors in the last minute proved just a consolation.

THACKLEY moved up another place to 14th with a 2-0 win at Parkgate thanks to a brace from Mike Garrod.

The striker opened the scoring midway through the first half and added a 70th-minute penalty.

There was also good news for ECCLESHILL UNITED as their 6-2 home win over Worsbrough Bridge Athletic lifted them into the top half of the Division One table.

The Eagles went behind when Robert Oldham slotted in a tenth-minute penalty but goals from Andy Cooper, Luke Harrop and Ben Hardy gave the hosts a comfortable lead at the interval.

They also won the second half 3-1 as Liam Charles, Brett Catley and Brendon Hammond outscored Matt Jacobs for the visitors.
