ECCLESHILL United have withdrawn their reserve team from the Lancashire League in part to help protect their pitch.
The Eagles' football chairman Adrian Benson explained: "The main reasons for making our decision is to concentrate our efforts totally on the development of our senior first team and to maintain the policy of protecting the excellent standard of our pitch, which is considered to be one of the best in non-league football."
Albion Sports Reserves have also withdrawn their reserve team, opting to play instead in the West Riding County FA Under-21 Floodlit League.
