THACKLEY are at Pickering Town in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division on Saturday and it may be a mid-table battle as 11th takes on 14th but the hosts have enjoyed a much better season than the Dennyboys to sit 11 points ahead..

The Dennyboys lost 2-1 at home last weekend but the two wins prior to that eased any lingering relegation worries.

Thackley drew 1-1 with the Pikes at Dennyfield back in September, and Chris Reape’s men would settle for a repeat of that result.

Liversedge also face a tricky away fixture as they take on sixth-placed Bridlington Town.

Sedge are nearer to the bottom of the table than their hosts are to the top as they reside fifth from the foot but they are 11 points above the trapdoor.

Brid may be flying high but they are only the best of the rest as the top five clubs are well clear in terms of points and have all played fewer games.

Albion Sports moved up to ninth with a midweek win at home to Garforth Town but alterations to the fixture list mean that they will not have the chance to improve on that as they now have no game for almost a fortnight.

In a mid-table clash in Division One, Eccleshill United travel to Worsbrough Bridge Athletic – if the home side’s pitch is playable. The home side’s ground is on a flood plain.

If the game does go ahead, the Eagles will be looking to improve on their recent back-to-back draws and gain new boss Gerard Jones his first victory.
