Albion Sports moved up two places to seventh in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division with a 2-1 home win over Athersley Recreation.
The home side edged in front after forcing an early corner. The centre backs combined well after being sent forward, with James Firth setting up Sam Bradley for the opener.
The visitors levelled but Albion refused to settle for a draw and a piece of individual brilliance from former Bradford Park Avenue man Matty James clinched all three points.
It was a bad night for Eccleshill United in Division One as they failed to grasp a chance to move up to third place.
The Eagles remain fifth after a 3-1 home defeat to mid-table Bottesford Town, Viktor Balis netting Eccleshill’s late consolation.
