Heanor Town 3, Eccleshill United 4

A four timer from Marcus Edwards sent Eccleshill United through to the final of the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Cup tonight.

Premier Division opponents Heanor had home advantage in the semi-finals but it didn’t work out well.

They took the lead but Edwards levelled from the penalty spot after Town had been reduced to ten men.

The home side edged back in front before the break but another red card in the second period saw the Eagles also reduced in numbers and another penalty awarded.

However, rookie keeper Dylan Cook came on for the dismissed Brendon Roslund and saved the spot- kick.

Edwards rattled in a rapid hat-trick and, although Heanor pulled one goal back, the Eagles won the seven-goal thriller to earn their passage to the final.
