Brighouse Town enjoyed a good win in midweek and will look to build on that tomorrow to get their title bid in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division back on track.

Town put a shock defeat and three consecutive postponements behind them on Tuesday with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Maltby Main. The three points took them above local rivals Thackley into fourth place and tomorrow they journey to third-from-bottom Winterton Rangers.

The home side will be scrapping as they are only seven points above the relegation trapdoor but have played three games more than second bottom Nostell MW.

In time-honoured football irony, Nostell face one of Brighouse‘s near neighbours as Albion Sports host the struggling outfit. Albion need to snap out of a recent malaise because they go into the game on the back of three defeats on the spin.

However, Kulwinder Sandhu has a depleted squad and Albion are looking at a long end to their first season in the top flight.

Thackley may have lost ground in midweek without playing but they will need to be on their mettle to ensure they don’t drop further behind when they host Worksop Parramore tomorrow.

The Dennyboys are fifth while their visitors are tenth but Worksop are only six points behind and have four games in hand.

Liversedge have not played since beating Winterton 5-1 on the first Wednesday of the month and they have a chance to bank more points this weekend when they host Staveley MW, the club immediately below them in the table.

Eccleshill United will be brimming with confidence ahead of their trip to North Yorkshire to take on Knaresborough Town in Division One.

The Eagles booked themselves a place in the West Riding County Cup at Valley Parade in midweek with a 2-1 win over Conference North outfit Guiseley.

That was a massive boost to Lee Duxbury’s side and they could reclaim fourth place in the league with a win at their mid-table hosts tomorrow.
