Six of the best lifts Albion Sports five places
Albion Sports leapt five places up the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division when they spanked Lincoln Moorlands Railway with six of the best tonight.
Danny Facey bagged himself a second half hat-trick, making it four on the night for the striker. He had opened the scoring in the eighth minute after good work from Tate Williams.
Lincoln soon hit back, Matt Jacobs netting a 12th-minute equaliser, but it was all Albion from there on.
Williams put the home side back in front just after the half-hour and Levi Maturine added another just before the break.
Albion had had the strong wind behind them in the first half but the visitors could not make the most of the conditions after the break.
It was still one-way traffic, with Facey bagging his second just five minutes after the restart, and he wrapped up the scoring with a late double.
Albion’s next game is a derby against Brighouse Town on Saturday, and the two clubs are going into it on the back of very different results after Town were beaten.
They travelled to Heanor Town and the game hinged on a contentious penalty decision just after the hour. It went in favour of the home side, and Kieran Debrouwer netted from the spot.
It was a good, close game that could have gone either way, with both sides hitting the woodwork.
There was no joy for Eccleshill United in Division One as they were beaten 3-1 at home by Knaresborough Town.
Following a goalless first half, both sides scored early in the second half, with Colin Heath giving Town a lead before Marcus Edwards levelled for the Eagles.
Heath put the visitors back in front 16 minutes from time but the game was never secure until Steve Bromley made it 3-1 in the penultimate minute.
