The City Supporters' Trust today threw their weight behind the T&A '10,000 For Our Team' campaign and declared: Get pledging now.

Chairman Alan Carling said the Trust were delighted to back the "bold and imaginative move" to drum up extra support at the Intersonic Stadium next season.

He hopes that supporters will snap up the offer from chairman Julian Rhodes to slash season-ticket prices to £138 - the lowest in professional football in the country.

The Trust believe the scheme, which will go ahead providing 10,000 fans pledge to take it up this month, can appeal to every section of the fan-base - existing season-ticket holders; those who pick and choose their games; and families and neighbours who can club together and share out the tickets, because they will be transferable.

Carling said: "The offer of £138 for all adult fans will bring the season ticket within the reach of many more families for next season. It also give great value to existing supporters.

"This is a bold and imaginative move by Julian Rhodes and we are fully behind the initiative. We would urge all fans to send their pledges in to the Telegraph & Argus as soon as possible.

"The target of 10,000 pledges is high but we think it is achievable if you look at the attendances of some of the home games - especially the likes of the Huddersfield game.

"We know that the support is out there. If we can increase the average attendance to 10,000-plus over the season, this will transform the atmosphere at home games and give a huge boost to City players, not to mention the club finances.

"It shows that the club have ambitions despite the disappointments of the Dean Windass loan and the Jermaine Johnson transfer - and Bradford have a real chance to show the lead nationally in bringing seat prices down for all football fans."
