PUDSEY St Lawrence are the early pacesetters in The All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League Premier Division after recording their second 20-point maximum when they defeated Cleckheaton by six wickets.

Yorkshire second team all-rounder Jordan Thompson took 6-45 as the Saints bowled out their rivals for 181.

Tayyab Tahir (47) and Yorkshire batsman Tom Kohler-Cadmore (33) put on 94 for the third wicket, but once they were parted the Cleckheaton innings subsided.

St Lawrence openers Adam Waite (68) and Mark Robertshaw (59) got their side’s reply off to a great start with a stand of 146 before both became victims of spinner Andrew Deegan (4-53).

Three teams, Hanging Heaton, Farsley and Methley are just one point behind the leaders on 39 after recording their second wins.

Skipper Gary Fellows made his first hundred of the season as champions Hanging Heaton made 288-5 on their way to a 200-run win over East Bierley.

Fellows hit three sixes and nine fours and shared in two century partnerships. He put on 112 for the first wicket with Nick Connolly (55) and 102 for the second wicket with Ben Kohler-Cadmore (42).

New spinner Aqsad Ali produced the season’s best bowling figures to date of 8-33 as East Bierley crumbled to 88 all out. Opener Awaise Hussain top scored for East Bierley who look set for another season of struggle.

South African all-rounder Pat Kruger produced a match-winning bowling spell of 6-13 as Farsley bowled out Townville for 67 to secure a 66-run win.

Kruger was backed up by Matthew Lumb (3-20) as Townville’s batting crumbled in reply to Farsley’s 133, a total that owed much to a determined innings of 53 from opener James Logan. Skipper Jack Hughes (4-25 was the pick of Townville’s bowlers.

Skipper Grant Soames and 16-year-old spinner Harry Sullivan were the key figures in Methley’s 115-run win at Lightcliffe.

Soames, pictured saluting his 50, made 97 to help his side to 225-8 and maximum batting points after hitting seven sixes and five fours. Left-arm spinner Danyaal Ahmed was the most-successful Lightcliffe bowler with 3-53.

Lightcliffe crumbled to 110 all out as Sullivan (6-38) and Soames (4-22) found the conditions to their liking. Opener Alex Stead (42) was the top scorer for Lightcliffe who are propping up the early table.

Two more spin bowlers to make match-winning contributions were the Woodlands pair of Mark Lawson (5-44) and Kez Ahmed (3-36). They combined to help bowl out New Farnley for 135 to secure a 73-run win for their side.

New Farnley were given a solid start with opener Martin Andersson making 50 of the first 68 runs on the board, but once he was dismissed the complexion of the game was changed by former New Farnley captain Lawson and Ahmed.

Lawson clearly enjoyed playing against his old club. Earlier, he made 49 as he helped revive the Woodlands innings with Greg Finn (54). Spinner Dave McCallum took 3-43 as Woodlands slid to 48-4, but they recovered to make 209-8.

Overseas player Aditya Waghmode caught the eye for Scholes as they defeated Bradford & Bingley by 71 runs to record their first win.

The opening batsman made 87 and provided the cornerstone of his side’s 162 all out. The young spin combination of Bradley Reeve (4-41) and Kyme Tahirkeli (3-18) did much of the damage.

The visitors were soon in trouble at 30-4 when they replied with last week’s centurion Jonathan Whitehead out for a duck.

Yassir Ali was again the most impressive bowler for Scholes as he took 5-38 as Bradford & Bingley were bowled out for 91.
