WITH Scholes suffering a 61-run defeat at Undercliffe, Methley seized their chance to regain the leadership of the All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League Championship Division One.

They beat relegation-threatened Bowling Old Lane by five wickets to take a two-point lead.

Overseas player Anas Mahmood (70) and Gulsheraz Ahmed (50) helped Undercliffe to earn maximum batting points with a score of 236-9 against Scholes, whose most successful bowler was spinner Gareth Lee (3-45).

For once the Scholes top order didn't click, and only the efforts of No 9 Robert Smith (40no) and Christian Jackson (36) got them up to 175.

Undercliffe skipper Scott Etherington took 3-32.

Bowling Old Lane opener Farakh Hussain seems to enjoy playing against Methley.

He scored a century against them earlier this season and followed up with 50 as his relegation-threatened side were bowled out for 176.

Young spinner Harry Sullivan took 3-42 for the Priestley Cup finalists.

Jordan Laban, with 74, and Marcus Walmsley (57) shared a second-wicket stand of 120 as Methley banked another win.

Wrenthorpe, looking to end the poor run of form that has dented their promotion challenge, lost three of their big guns - skipper Greg Wood, Luke Patel and Shoaib Hashmi - cheaply as they slipped to 31-3 against Ossett.

Opener Jonathan Sleightholme stood firm, however, and his 87 proved crucial as his side recovered to make 203-9.

Matthew Race chipped in with 36 before Chris Leaf hammered an unbeaten 47 from 30 balls.

Opening bowler Maaiz Khan impressed with 5-37 and his good work was backed up by Paul Malone (54no), Jon Sadler (40) and Khalid Usman (38) as Ossett secured a four-wicket win.

The result leaves Wrenthorpe 29 points outside the promotion places.

Morley are now just seven points behind Wrenthorpe after showing no mercy for bottom team Birstall, who they bowled out for 103 to set up a six-wicket win.

Sri Lankan Sangeeth Cooray took 4-29 and skipper Ollie Halliday 3-12 as only Kamran Khan (30) made an impression with the bat.

Halliday was unbeaten on 38 when victory was secured.

Big-hitting Jack Seddon smashed seven sixes in an unbeaten 59 as Gomersal secured a five-wicket win at Baildon.

Baildon lost their last nine wickets for 22 runs as they were bowled out for 98.

Opener George Barker top scored with 34 as the Gomersal spinners found conditions to their liking, as Adam Greenwood took 5-50 and Chris Rhodes 4-19.

Skipper James Lee once again came to the rescue of Bankfoot as they lost both openers cheaply against Yeadon.

Lee (96) fell just four runs short of a deserved century as he led a revival which resulted in his side making 250 and enabled them to record a 92-run win.

Peiris Prangige (52) gave him good support, while an offering of 47 extras gave the score a big boost.

Young spinner James Massheder took the bowling honours with 5-72 for Yeadon.

Ross Heptinstall's unbeaten 53 and 40 from opener James Todd were the main features of Yeadon's 158-6.
