TREASURER David Smith is not unduly worried by the Dales Council League making a loss of £931 on the year ending September 30, 2017.

Smith told the league's annual meeting at Pudsey Congs: "The overall financial situation is very healthy.

"There are a number of cricket balls still in stock and some money was not moved over due to the illness of chairman Steve Raistrick."

The league still have assets of £15,367, compared to £16,308 last year, and he explained the reasons for the turnaround from a profit of £1,630 in 2016.

Money from the sale of balls was down from £5,372 to £4,961, while the dinner made a loss of £722 compared to a profit of £694. There was also no ball sponsor in the accounts this year, which provided an income of £1,250 last year.

Also, trophies and prizes cost £1,244 this year, compared to £792 in 2016.
