HOLDERS Keighley RZM have been knocked out of the Quaid-e-Azam League's Yasmin & Shaid Solicitors Cup.

They were defeated by 98 runs in their quarter-final by Darulshafa, who made 228 on the back of contributions by Arsam Malik (66), Nadeem Safder (63) and Khalil Ullah (49), Ishtikhar Hussain taking 4-46 for RZM.

In reply, brilliant bowling by Shazada Khan, who picked up 6-26, secured a semi-final berth for Darulshafa against Heaton Park on Sunday, July 9.

The latter scraped through by one wicket against My Lahore, who won the toss and batted.

Mansoor Hussain's 4-24 restricted them to 108, but Park needed an unbeaten 58 by Shoukat Ali to see them home, though they still needed a last-wicket partnership of 13 as skipper Majid Hussain held his nerve.

Also close was Onq's 13-run victory over White Rose, with the former making 231-8 (Naheem Ashraf 74).

White Rose were dismissed for 218, Zahid Nisar making 72.

Half-centuries by Sohail Hussain (54) and Qaiser Mahmood (52) helped Bhalot Strikers to 189, Musa Hussain picking up 5-27.

Despite a good effort, Raja's were all out for 158, good bowling from Adeel Baig and Aqsad Ali giving Strikers a mouth-watering semi-final against On Q.

In the Chefgenie Shield, old foes Karmand and Bradford Moor played out a thriller at Saltaire.

Karmand made a testing 277-8, Siraj Hussain scoring 86, but Moor, who were nine down, were seen over the line by Rahat Shah's 82 not out after Bilal Ejaz had made 57 and Mustafa Rafique 52.

League newcomers Style won the other semi-final, defeating Section A Indus Ghari by nine wickets.

Opening batsmen Waqas Khan’s unbeaten 101 was the key as he and Ozair Khan (44no) helped Style chase down Indus Ghari's 179, of which Mohammed Tayyab scored 42.

Saltaire will stage the final , also on Sunday, July 9.

* If Eid ul Fitr starts on Sunday, all league fixtures will be cancelled, with sides receiving two points each.

However, if it falls on Monday, the previous day's league programme will go ahead as normal.
