YORKSHIRE endured a frustrating afternoon session on day one of their Specsavers County Championship match against Middlesex at Lord's, going wicketless as the hosts dominated.
Sam Robson and Irishman Paul Stirling both moved into the nineties, with the score on 228-2 from 64 overs at tea.
They advanced from 83-2 at lunch, scoring 145 runs in 37 overs this afternoon while sharing 153 in 38 in all for the third wicket so far.
Robson reached the interval unbeaten on 97 and Stirling, who has been the aggressor, on 92. Robson was on 36 when Stirling came to crease shortly before lunch.
The Ireland international has played some crunching strokes, lofting Adam Lyth over long-on for the day's only six.
