FORMER Yorkshire and Scotland opening bowler Iain Wardlaw is proving a big hit in his second spell with Championship Division Two leaders Hartshead Moor.

Wardlaw took 6-43 as his side bowled out Carlton for just 62 to secure their ninth win of the All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League campaign.

Hartshead Moor won by 104 runs after posting a score of 166. Mohammad Khan was their top scorer with 47 against a bowling attack in which Michael Hodgkins took 4-47 and Joshua Thurwell 3-52.

Second-placed Northowram Fields, who are 39 points back, recorded a 50-run win over Hopton Mills.

Chris Metcalf's 85 was the highlight of their 262 total but opener Ajantha Weerappulli (41), Ashton Richardson (40) and Jason Smith (33no) all chipped in.

Umar Abbas returned 5-62 for Mills and was supported by Andy Grey (3-76).

Chris Scott struck 79 as Mills replied on 212-9, with Josh Bennett Kear the pick of the Northowram Field bowlers after taking 4-53.

Third-placed Altofts cruised to an eight-wicket win over Brighouse, Kristian Miller hitting an unbeaten 73 as they overhauled Brighouse's score of 144.

Samar Farooq top-scored with 51 for Brighouse as Elliot Carter led the bowling for Altofts with 4-11.

Buttershaw St Paul's chased down Keighley's 178 to win by six wickets. The experienced Tosh Baker (72no) and Gary Wainwright (40) made sure that victory was secured.

Keighley's innings was boosted by half-centuries from youngsters Andy Wear (58) and Sam Johnson (53) against a bowling attack in which Dharmesh Mistry (5-50) impressed.

Asif Ali had a good day for Liversedge as they saw off the challenge of Spen Victoria by 76 runs.

Ali top-scored with 73 in Liversedge's 242-9 and followed up with 3-21 as Spen were bowled out for 166.

Liam Grant took 3-49 for Spen and followed up with 46 as he and fellow opener Evan Edwards (48) provided the bright spots in their side's innings.

Spinner Steve Lane backed up Ali with 3-38 for Liversedge.

Hunslet Nelson continued their good form with a 48-run win over Idle.

Jack Scanlon (60) and Asim Iqbal (39) led Nelson to a score of 195-8 before Idle, despite 61 from Naseem Aslam, were all out for 147, with Iqbal taking 4-54.
