YORKSHIRE duo Tim Bresnan and Jack Leaning were in the North team beaten 3-0 in the ECB North v South series in Dubai.

Bresnan did not fail with the bat, making 40 in the first match, 74 in the second (when Leaning made 27) and 35 in the final contest but the South won each time by ten wickets, 47 runs and 20 runs respectively.

Leaning and Bresnan were among the wickets in the first match, with Leaning taking 2-47 and Bresnan 2-62, but they had slim pickings otherwise with the ball.

South openers Daniel Bell-Drummond (92no) and Dawid Malan (109no) put on 205 as they took the first match with 16.3 overs to spare after the North had made 202 (Joe Clarke 57, Sam Hain 33, Tom Curran 3-19, Toby Roland-Jones 2-29, Dawson 2-23).

Malan was in the runs again in match two, hitting 78 of the South's 346-6, aided by Sam Northeast (118no) and Liam Dawson (83). The North replied with 299 (Bresnan 74, Ben Duckett 64).

The South also won the final match after hitting 228-8 (Bell-Drummond 81no, Roland-Jones 43no, Josh Poysden 3-55), the North replying with 208 (Liam Livingstone 50, Hain 44, Duckett 37, Bresnan 35, Mason Crane 4-39, T Curran 3-51).
