THE draw for the All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League’s Priestley Cup has thrown up three cracking first round ties.

Holders Woodlands visit Bradford & Bingley in a repeat of last season’s semi-final which they won by nine wickets.

Premier Division new boys Townville play hosts to Hanging Heaton looking to avenge the narrow defeat they suffered at their opponents’ hands on run rate in a rain-affected game last year.

But the top tie is at Moorend where Cleckheaton, league champions in 2013 and 2014, take on Pudsey St Lawrence – title winners for the past two seasons – in a re-run of the 2014 final which the Saints won by 107 runs.

A fourth all-Premier Division clash sees the 2012 winners East Bierley take on Lightcliffe, who lifted the trophy the following year.

Ossett, holders of the Jack Hampshire Cup, face their old Central Yorkshire League rivals Methley as they make their bow in the league’s top cup competition, which is contested by Premier Division and Championship One teams.

Woodlands, who did the second teams double of Premier Division title and Priestley Shield in 2016, begin their defence of the latter competition with a first round rip to Conference outfit Townville.
