Femi Fehintola will face highly-rated Steve Foster Junior in a mouth-watering British title eliminator.

Bradford's English super-feather champion has agreed to face Frank Warren fighter Foster with the winner taking on title-holder Kevin Mitchell.

Purse bids for the clash must be in by April 9 with the bout then expected to take place in June.

Salford-based Foster, who took Alex Arthur the distance last time out, would be a big scalp for Fehintola, who stretched his record to 19-1 with a points win over John Baguley at Sheffield's Don Valley Arena on Saturday night.

He said: "Foster is a great fight for me. He's a good name and a tough kid but he is perfect for my style.

"The last time I looked he was ranked higher than Mitchell and Carl Johanneson and he is one of Warren's big fighters. But I've been calling out for opportunities and this is just what I want."

Fehintola kept his hand in with a 59-56 verdict against the elusive Baguley and was happy with his performance.

"It was good to get back in the ring and blow a few cobwebs away," he said. "Baguley was a typical Ingle fighter but he took a bit of hammer.

"It's important to stay active while you are waiting for the big fights and I felt sharp. It's put me in good stead."

Fehintola is straight back in the gym this week and will spar with the Great Britain Olympic squad on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Bradford middleweight Gavin Smith was another winner at the weekend bill.

Smith, in his first outing for 18 months, came firing out the blocks and floored Colchester opponent Drew Campbell in each of the first two rounds. He got a convincing decision 59-54 on points.
