Bowls
Worms, weeds and wisdom
Experienced stand-in Ian Brewster is giving a talk on bowling green construction and maintenance at the West Yorkshire branch meeting of the Institute of Groundsmen (IOG) on Wednesday at Cleckheaton Sports Club (7.30).
Brewster, a groundsman with 25 years' experience in cricket, bowls, croquet and winter games, is rapidly becoming one of the IOG's leading lecturers and course tutors.
Worms, weeds, moss or even bowlers are problems that will hopefully be answered.
Brewster replaces Alan Lewis, who is unavailable due to a family illness. Preceding the talk will be a quiz.
"Non-members are welcome and club secretaries, treasurers and chairmen, as well as groundsmen, will benefit from the evening," says branch
secretary Rod Heyhoe.
