Myrtle Park meet their Waterloo

Myrtle Park Bowling Club have found a special venue for their internal battle for the Upton Cup on Sunday - the world-famous Waterloo green in Blackpool.

"We can hire it for nothing as long as we have a meal there afterwards," said 84-year-old Norman Upton, whose father Herbert presented the trophy to the club in the 1940s.

"My son Michael has his name on it twice, and beat me on both occasions, but I eventually got my name on my father's cup, although I don't think I'll win it this Sunday."
