Our next match is on Sunday, November 11 and is our Christmas Cheer match at The Oaks, Sessay, on Alders Lake. This is a silverfish match. Please book on before October 31. The heaviest fish caught during the week was a 4lb 9oz rainbow trout by Paul Scrimshaw using ace of spades. Fewston & Swinsty: ‘Hard work’ sums up this week’s fishing. Colder mornings and cold water have left fish sitting in deep water. Weighted flies or heavy lines are required to pull trout in to feeding areas. Thruscross: Closed season. Catch details (week ending October 7) – Day ticket: Fewston 15, Swinsty 1, Thruscross (closed season); total fish caught: Fewston 34, Swinsty 9; average per rod: Fewston 2.3, Swinsty 9.0.
