Dougie Lampkin second in title defence

Dougie Lampkin had to settle for second best in the defence of his Lagares Extreme Enduro title in Portugal.

The Silsden trials rider, competing for the Gas Gas team, was runner-up to Graham Jarvis (Husaberg) after winning on his debut in the exhausting event the previous year.

Lampkin finished 29 minutes behind his fellow Briton but 16 ahead of third-placed Alfredo Gomez of Spain. These were the only three riders to finish in the six-hour time allowance.
