THANK YOU to all and well done Omar and Co for keeping John Bateman, what alot of fans wanted to hear. Thank you. Come on Bulls fans get your season tickets to support or great club and take it forward. We raised and extra half a million trying to save our club on a promise that was not delivered. These people listened to fans and have delivered. So COYB

Why do most professional teams have Club at the end of their name. BCFC for example. I agree it is a business and has such has to make money. So for the business to operate, it has to have money, where does it get that money from members, as in working end clubs. Or in the case of a professional club, it's supporters. No supporters no club. Therefore it is un for the mutual benefit of both. Money equals profit, profit equals money. The club can only succeed if supporters, sponsors put money into it.

I must admit things are beginning to look a lot brighter at Odsal now, the signing of John looks like a clear statement from the new owners.
The legacy that MP has left will I hope be built on by FC, the respect we the supporters and the players have for him is already in place and I’m sure will grow as the results start to come in.
There are some of you out there, who are BULLS supporters but stayed away because of past management, now your time has come, buy your season tickets and come home.

Who remembers a few years back when the superdome nearly came off? Tesco was the main business behind it, Morrisons cried to the planners, and the thing was dropped. Sir Ken has never supported professional sport in Bradford. I hope the rumour is right, Morrison's aren't in the equation

Congratulations to Bulls and JB on extension to contract. Seem to be heading in right direction, however still a way to go, at last count only 16 or 17 signed and short on props. Support will be there but fans would be looking for news of others signings, besides those of FC, just as important as players
What happened to the sponsors lined up by previous management or new\existing sponsors? May be early days but OK needs backing from Business community as well as fans.

On other matter good SL Final, congratulations to Whinos but please can we have teams other than Leeds \Saints competing next year, hopefully Bulls, but if not Hull, Dragons, Wildcats or even Warriors can be competitive enough to get there.

Asking for season ticket sales is not coming out with the begging bowl. It's asking people who were worried about the future of the club before he came on the scene to get behind the salvage operation and get some money in the coffers for which you will receive a ticket. When did a beggar last give you a ticket to watch 13 games?

john Batman was never going to leave Bulls not got a drivers licence , bit of a problem? travelling. Can we take it that ticket sales are slow? how many been sold or is that a secret . Mr Khan you will soon find out that your honeymoon will be short lived.

You suggest that OK didn't do his homework, well i'm pretty sure he and his team more than did some homework in order to put together the several business plans and financial forecasts required to make good the purchase of the Bulls.You ask 'where is his money' - proof of funding would have been one of the most important prerequisites in the purchase of the Club, so you may have to excuse him for not giving you details of his finances personally. As GIGO rightly points out to you Katie, promoting sales of Season Tickets is NOT 'bringing out the begging bowls' as you state, rather a well timed and prudent push to maximise the paying customers - they/we are the life blood of the Club/Business after all. Let me ask you a rhetorical question... If you bought the Coca Cola empire would you cancel the advertising and promotional activity because you had the money to buy the business in the first place? Of course not, you would maximise and create as many revenue streams as possible to make the business profitable.
One final comment, you compared the financial state of the club now as to what it was before OK took over - WRONG - there wouldn't have been a Club if he hadn't have taken over and the Club is debt free. Previous debts were the responsibility of past regimes and if they had showed as much business enterprise that Mr Khan has already shown after just a few short weeks, well, perhaps we wouldn't be where we are today.

If you take the time and read around you will see all clubs urge their supporters to buy season tickets .....always have done always will do .....

Got my ticket yesterday. The concession rate is not as good as it used to be but I have still put my money behind the club. I would hope that the thousands who got behind the players and the coaching staff in the difficult times do the same. We may not get imediate success but we must stick with it.

He bought the club -he didn't by 26 players salaries for the next 3 years. Talk sense- what company can survive without selling their products to keep the business going, invest in the futue and pay the wages? Do MDs of companies just pay workers salaries out of their own pockets when they buy a company? Of course not-they sell a product. Our product is entertainment and they need to sell tickets for this. So come on get behind the club-more season tickets = more income = more money to invest in the club/players/future.

Buy your season tickets now-we've got ours and we got the discount. What more can you ask for? You can't have them at last years prices, it isn't & wasn't viable-that's why the club of Hood & Bennett got in such a mess. Do you want to be in that position again next season?

I hardly think that is a reason to re-sign with Bradford for 3 years do you?
If as reported he as offered megabucks by Hull FC he could have got a taxi there. Or failing that he could have got a lift with Jason Crookes who would have to pass Bradford en route from Huddersfield.
Finally as he has signed for 3 years could he not take lessons? Even Maureen on Driving School passed in that time

Hi Shelfrhino. We could all jump on a bandwagon & start following the Rhinos or Wigan or Warrington. I dont think you quite understand what being a true supporter means. We stick with OUR club through thick & thin. When the good times come around again then those of us who stayed loyal to the club in the bad times can then really appreciate it.

No doubt once the Leeds bandwagon has stopped & your Rugby Union lover owner decides to concentrate on HIS union club ,you'll jump ship to a bigger club. YOU wont be welcome at Odsal though, we want & we get loyal supporters

Nobody has "bottomless pockets" as is quite obvious from the number of RL clubs, now, trying the poor tale. Owners cannot and will not continue to put there OWN monies at risk, constantly baling them out. See, Salford, Castleford, Giants, Hull K R.

Don't forget, OK passed the RFL test for having the monies to run the club. What he is actually saying his, I've put my money in. Now, you as supporters do the same. In other words get your season ticket, I have just bought two, on the three monthly set up. It's a good deal, you go up to Odsal and get yours Pablo. Or have you spent all your cash on one for Valley Parade.

If you take time out and read up on what is happening at other clubs, you'll see the how other clubs are out, begging supporters to buy their season tickets. If you want to watch Giants, £99 and yet their owner will not bail then out again. With gates less than Bulls, how will they survive the 2013 season without his help. The current format of the SLneeds major surgery otherwise????

One serious point however, FYI, my guess is the vast majority of Bulls fans have actually more to be 'confident' about now than anytime in the last few years -just ask em fella! Very well done shelfwhino, you must be so proud of yourself. I can imagine watching that game must have given you a lot of sexual gratification. I watched it and got bored of the same old same old. I just hope when it gets round to your team having a very bad time (and yes what goes around comes around) that you will still be coming on here sharing your pity and letting us know what it feels like because I for one will be having the biggest and the last laugh ever. The cynics who have pickedc up on OK"s choice of language are absolutely right to be cynical.

Ok has only had to find £150k.£100k the balance of purchase money is not due till 2015!

Gamble it is and he is no doubt getting nervous if season ticket sales are slow given that he has to find september october and novembers wages (plus all other overheads)without any other income.

The wages were estimated with Employers PAYE to be around £750k.

Remember it was onlt April when fans coughed up £400k.(that was the amount finally raised by the pledge not £500k)

Times are hard.

The Odeon in Bradford closed in july 2000.To share one with Leeds at Thornbury.On saturday I dropped my daughter and friend off to see a latest blockbuster.They were the only two in the cinema!
On a fine day the Bradford Park Avenue owners five a side 3G pitches changing rooms and bar wereall shuttered up when I would have expected tons of kids to be taking advantage of the fine weather kicking a ball around.
It was only 6 quid in at the cinema.
On dropping my daughter home the 11th earl at Horsforth was deserted.
Its always been usually packed offering carvery at a little over a fiver.
On a saturday night.

These are incredibly tough times for everyone in the country and Bradfordians are poorer than most.
We all wish Omar well but gamble it is.

In fact my and colleagues research shows Omar is mainly involved in charitable social enterprise business.

He is tied in with Bradford college in training up curry chefs where there is a desperate shortage following clampdowns on allowing them already trained into the country.

5 years ago he sold his boutique hotel next to Lister Park (called the Lister Park Hotel)to his new admin guy at the Bulls.For £400000.The new admin guy was going to invest £1.5 million in the place.18 months later it was back on the market for £350k and in tht hands of administration.
Whenever I passed the place from 2005 there was one man and his dog in there.But always a very expensive car in the car park.

He apparently does not own his restaurant on Little Horton Lane just fined £15 grand.Despite all the press regarding him as owning it in the run up to his purchase of the Bulls which he had every opportunity to deny.

wonder if he owns the one in Skipton.

He does of course now own the Coral Stand which cost £2.17 million.

For £150k paid on account.

So now the Sky money coming Bulls way has stopped I would too be getting a bad taste of the jitters.

If I had to find £750k by the end of November just to pay the wages never mind next seasons wages.

That is exactly how Mr Hood operated.
Paying last seasons debts with next seasons revenues.

There will be no more cushion support from the RFL.

The bed is made the bets are placed and if I were a betting man I would say it will all end in tears.

The gamble must be.Raise £1.5 million in season ticket sales by the end of December.Anything less and the begging bowl will be out again and then it truly could be death of the club.

Its very serious and the only evidence OK will have been forced to show was that he could find the £150k.Which he has scraped together.

The RFl paying just a million for all that land something wrong there.
Ok paying £150k for a stand that cost £2.17 million(and players where John Bateman alone must have been worth £150k)appears all wrong.

The creditors have been stitched up through the stupidity of all concerned

I cannot see the Bulls surviving.
The appeal to Bradford business"s they are all mostly closing.

Even the Tordoff family were not interested.And they do have the money.And have supported the Bulls well over the past 10 years.

He"s a big fan and has bucketsfull of enthusiasm

But not bucketfulls of cash.

And neither has Gerry.

Who seems to be spending so much time on Bulls affairs I cannot seem to get response from him in regard to constituent concerns.

Interestingly I am advised Omar actually paid Bradford City FC £2500 a year.In order to be their ambassador (for the asian community).

Sounds like the wannabe is going to need to be a betterbe.

It was referred to the planning inspectorate as the development went against national policy which was to try protect town centres from meadowhall type developments.

Tesco faced with that obstacle pulled out.
