There’s just no stopping Ladyhill B
4:20pm Wednesday 3rd October 2012 in Sport By John Preston
Ladyhill B continued their rise up the Bradford Saturday League as they won a third successive title by finishing top of the Bartle division.
This latest success earned them a place in the Observer (Division Three) section next season. They will be joined by Wibsey A, who make a quick return following last year’s relegation. Tyersal A and Pudsey C drop down to the Haigh (Division Five) competition.
Wyke B lost just one game as they captured the Haigh crown – finishing 38 points ahead of runners-up Royd House, who were the only team to beat them. Peel B and Bowling A move in the opposite direction.
Guiseley B were crowned Riley (Division Six) champions after a superb season, with Wibsey B runners-up after improving on last season’s seventh place to gain promotion. Thornton and Greengates B are relegated.
Drighlington B closed 40 points clear as they lifted the Field Packaging (Division Seven) title for an immediate return to the Riley section. Drighlington lost only three games, two of them to runners-up Asa Briggs B. Guiseley C and Lister fall into the bottom (Mellor) division.
Salts stormed to the Mellor title, finishing 57 points ahead of fellow promoted side Bailiff Bridge B. Salts only failed to go the whole season undefeated when Shelf A shocked them with a 15-13 victory in their penultimate match.
