Clough chuffed at landing Bradford Bulls role

Bulls fanatic Tom Clough has hailed his appointment as the club’s head of strength and conditioning as “a dream come true”.
The 29-year-old from Birken-shaw, who played in the youth ranks at Huddersfield Giants, has landed the post on a three-year deal following the departure of Australian conditioner Geoff Evans.
A graduate of Leeds Metro-politan University, Clough has spent the past two years working with Bradford’s under-20 and under-18 Academy players and under-16 and under-15 scholars.
He enjoyed a nine-month internship at Odsal three years ago and then spent three months working for Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning in Boston, USA before returning to the club.
He said: “It’s a dream job for me being a Bradford lad and a lifelong fan of the club who used to stand on the terraces watching Northern play.
“It’s a massive opportunity for me to set standards to help the club get back to where we belong.
“During my time in America I worked with athletes from different sports – college players, American football, ice hockey, all the American sports.
“Then I came back to the Bulls and applied that system to the Academy at Bradford, obviously using my rugby background at the same time.
“I played for Huddersfield Giants Under-21s, Gateshead Thunder and England Students at university.
“I got injured when I was 20, which stopped me playing, so I got into the rehabilitation side of things and then strength and conditioning.”
Clough, rated highly by new Bulls coach Francis Cummins, is confident he is ready to make the step up to first-team level.
He said: “During my time in America, I studied some of the leading experts in sports science and strength and conditioning.
“I know quite a few of the Bulls players already because I’ve been here for three years in total now.
“Going forward, I want to put my mark on this team. I know what I want to do with them and we’ve already had the players in for reviews. They know where they need to be when they come in for pre-season.
“So yes, it’s a different regime that’s being put in place but the players have responded well to it already.”

John bateman , you know the one you said was going nowhere. On the akbars story why should they now give money while omar takes all the credit for saving bulls,
.
An Akbar’s representative yesterday said its managing director Shabir Hussain had left the consortium but was willing to “unconditionally
pay Bulls up to £50,000 cash per year for the next three years. He confirmed the money would be paid directly to Bradford Bulls, regardless of who took over the club.
Dill Butt, corporate director, said Mr Hussain would donate between £25,000 and £50,000 a year – with the final amount to be decided.
“We have no ulterior motives with the ground or a commercial interest in Bradford Bulls,” he said.
“The donation would be to help them get their cash flow sorted.
“We’re not asking for shares or a place on the board of directors or anything like that. It’s just a donation.
“Bradford Bulls means a lot to a lot of people in Bradford.”
.
Thats why! Next....

Interesting how ok says he would be happy to take a donation.
Lets be fair to OK.
OK"s 150k is a donation.
He has declared transparency and is not in it for profit.Well we all know there is no profit and never will be.
Its going to be tough very tough.
His lieutenants have been around him for some time in a failed hotel venture near Lister Park.
In fact he sold the hotel to one of his admin guys 5 years ago for 400k.
The bloke was going to invest 1.5 million in the place right next to manningham park.
18 months l;ater it was back up for sale for 50 grand less than ok sold it for.pipedreams.
Manningham Park is not Mayfair
Boutique Hotels dont sit well in Manningham Bradford 8.
Lets hope the plans for Odsal are a bit better thought through.
Get rid of the pink champers and smoked salmon nibbles.
Pies Toms or Herberts to go with a couple of sherberts might be more order of the day.
Wherever did Rugby League get ahead of itself and lose the plot.
Prawn sandwich anyone?
Cue abuse?
