Victory is against the odds for game Old Grovians

Ossett 11 Old Grovians 13
At the end of the season, Old Grovians may well look back on this result as a key moment in their Yorkshire Division Five campaign.
Over 80 minutes, Ossett largely controlled the game, being dominant in the scrum and winning a number of balls against the head.
They were quicker to the breakdown and when Grovians did win the ball, all too often players breaking the game line found themselves isolated and possession would be turned over. Yet somehow the visitors found a way to overcome all of this and win.
Anthony Griffin gave Old Grovians an early lead and Adam Weaving’s penalty increased the advantage to 8-0.
An Ossett try reduced the deficit to three points before they drew level with a penalty.
Despite playing with only 13 men after a second sin-binning shortly after the interval, Ossett failed to press home their advantage. Time and time again their forwards were held short of the line and, to add insult to injury, Weaving broke and fed Mathew Worrall to score.
Another Ossett penalty proved to be too little too late for the home side.
