Dominant display by Baildon

Baildon controlled long periods of this Yorkshire Three clash and deservedly took the spoils to retain second spot in the table.
Playing with the slope in the first half on a pitch that the Jenny Laners have struggled on in recent seasons, the visitors took a while to get into their stride but opened the scoring with two well-struck penalties from stand-off Jake Duxbury on 15 and 36 minutes.
Centre Jarrod Huss was rewarded for his high work-rate when he darted over for a try just before half-time after some good approach play from his forwards, Duxbury improving the Kiwi’s effort to give Baildon a 13-0 lead at the interval.
Despite playing up the pronounced slope into a strengthening wind, the Jenny Laners produced a solid second-half performance and spent most of the period in the opposition half.
The introduction of combative replacement scrum half Ben Newton put his pack on the front foot and the superior fitness and work-rate was rewarded when vice-captain and No 8 Craig Woodhall picked up from the base of a scrum to power over from close range, Duxbury hitting the post with the conversion attempt.
The only disappointment for Baildon was their failiure to bag the winning bonus point which looked well within their grasp.
