United aim to be a Thorn in rivals’ side
6:28pm Friday 28th September 2012 in Sport By Trevor Adams
Lee Cornforth hit four goals for Wrose Albion last weekend and will be looking for a repeat showing against White Hart
The game of the day in the Bradford Sunday Alliance League Premier Division this weekend is undoubtedly the top-of-the-table clash between reigning champions Buttershaw White Star and current leaders Thornton United.
Both clubs share the same facility so there is no real home advantage to be had, although Thornton will be classed as the visitors this time.
Third-placed Bolton Woods play host to next-to-bottom Queensbury at King George playing fields.
Division One leaders Victoria Rangers visit fifth-placed George Hotel in what should be an entertaining clash, while White Eagles – who have been inconsistent this season – visit rock-bottom Manningham hoping for all three points to help lift them up the table.
In Division 1B , leaders Wrose Albion – who just edged last week’s local derby against Wrose Bull – have second-placed White Hart as visitors, with the victors going top of the table.
